Vase of globular body and trumpet neck delicately embellished with war scenes and decorations typical of the Arita decoration, a type of Japanese porcelain produced in the city of Arita, in the prefecture of Saga. It is considered the Japanese porcelain par excellence and is characterized by its white color and delicate paintings. Hizen refers to Japanese porcelain produced in the region of Japan formerly known as Hizen. It includes fine decorative items made during the Edo period (1603-1867), such as Arita and Imari porcelain.
