BID HISTORY
DESCRIPTION
Pair of vases. Japan, first half of the 20th century.
Bronze and cloisonné enamel.
Measurements: 25 cm (height) x 13 cm (largest diameter).
This pair of vases is distinguished by its tendency to horror vacui, with its entire spherical vessel and its trumpet neck profusely polychromed using the cloisonné enamel technique. Also called alveolate or partitioned, cloisonné enamel is a technique that consists of depositing the vitreous paste of the enamel in recessed compartments or formed by metal sheets that, in relief, compose the silhouette of the design.
