Potiche carved in green jasper that is structured on a small wooden base. The work is profusely carved. The objects of Chinese origin, were known in the West since ancient times. As some of the catalogs of the Prado Museum point out "Chinese manufacturers soon understood that Europeans were not understood and manufactured export works, vulgar, even with flaws, but that in the eyes of Westerners are authentic works of art. Once the trade was regularly organized, the India Companies supplied Chinese artists with European models, both for forms and decoration."
