The Khula Khud is an iconic helmet of Persian origin, used during the Qajar dynasty. This type of helmet reflects both the military functionality and the artistic richness of the period, notable for its sophisticated damascene decoration. The Qajar dynasty (1794-1925) ruled Persia in a period of transition between classical military tradition and modernization. Although the practical use of armor such as the Khula Khud was declining due to the introduction of firearms, these pieces remained ceremonial and status symbols. They were used in parades, exhibitions or as diplomatic gifts, rather than in actual combat.
