Spittoon. Cambodia, 12th-13th centuries.

Measurements: 18 cm.

Spittoon with globular body and large flared lip. The spittoons are containers used to spit in it. As a domestic utensil or for hygienic use to collect spittle, it has been documented since Antiquity, and some examples of sophisticated and luxurious manufacture have been preserved.
