As we can observe in the watercolor in bidding, the dragonfly is a recurrent image in the Japanese iconography since it is very related to the values of the samurai. Dragonflies were called kachi-mushi (also called victorious insects) because they only fly forward, and this gave them the character of those who never go back and always move forward, that is, the samurai.
