Glove holder made of lacquered papier mache with ornaments on the lid. This type of pieces were highly valued, since the taste for the decorative arts increased in Europe where the superfluous luxury and the desire to possess small and exquisite things spread among the nobility and the high bourgeoisie. In Europe, both China and Japan were a constant source of inspiration, both for painting and for the design of furniture, interiors and decorative objects.
