BID HISTORY
DESCRIPTION
Offering table; Egypt, Middle Empire, XII dynasty, 1900-1700 BC.
Terracotta.
Measurements: 32 x 27,5 cm.
Votive representation of a table of offerings, an Egyptian piece modeled by hand in terracotta and dated in times of the XII dynasty, in the Middle Empire, between the years 1900 and 1700 B.C. It takes the form of a tray with straight and raised profile, rectangular, with a perpendicular opening in one of the short sides, as a spillway. On the same axis we see the representation of a cow's head, worked in round bulk and applied. The surface of the table is organized into three spaces differentiated by partitions of the same height of the perimeter, which determine a main central space in the shape of a "T", where the objects that make up the offering are placed. These include vessels with food and other elements, worked in relief with detail and realism.
