Standing figure in brown terracotta with a whistle incorporated in the upper part of the head. He is represented brandishing a sling and carrying a figure on his back. It has a human face, on four legs and a round feathered tail. The main figure wears a headdress with a chinstrap and a loincloth.
This type of figurines, made in terracotta and worked by molding, were very frequent in the production of the Colima culture. The Colima culture developed in northwestern Mexico between 200 B.C. and 500 A.D., on a coast plagued by natural accidents, a humid climate and abundant flora and fauna. They were an agricultural people who dedicated a great part of their time to the execution of rites and religious ceremonies. Most of the archaeological remains found come from or have some connection with the tombs of important figures of religious and political life. Within its artistic production, what abounds most are the ceramic pieces, both for use and rituals and statuettes. These are objects made of red clay, sometimes decorated with white and orange pigments.
