An eclectic painter, belonging to the Catalan school, Joan M. Rabat i Juncadella works both figuration, through an avant-garde language inherited from surrealism and the new classicist figuration of the thirties, and a volumetric abstraction that plays with planes, the anti-classical line and the juxtaposition of colours to suggest impossible spaces. He was awarded a platinum medal at the Festa de Sant Jordi at the CaixaForum in Barcelona in 2009, and is currently represented in various private collections.
