BID HISTORY
DESCRIPTION
Persian sophreh rug.
Hand-knotted wool.
Measurements: 135 x 147 cm.
The sofreh are small blankets generally woven that play an important role in the traditional daily tasks and in the Persian rituals. They can be used during the preparation of bread in order to prevent the dough from falling to the ground and, again, after baking to wrap the bread to keep it cold. The one we now present is distinguished by its geometric shapes and synthesized animalistic figures.
