Gabbeh carpets come from the southwest of Iran. It is a type of carpet with motifs recognizable for being made by the nomadic Ghashghai tribes. In this case, the central field in cerulean blue tones has been decorated with synthetic motifs of trees in white and red tones. The border, distributed in three bands, also presents schematic vegetal ornamentation. This type of carpet is made of hand-spun wool, both the pile and the warp. The yarns are dyed with vegetable dyes.
