Silver jug dated from the Vienna of 1695. This piece, of remarkable historical and artistic value, is characterized by its baroque style, recognizable in the profusion of details and the exuberant ornamentation that covers it.
As for its shape, the jug presents a classical silhouette with an ovoid body that tapers into a cylindrical neck, culminating in a clearly defined pouring lip. The handle, curved and elegant in design, joins the body at two points, bringing visual balance to the ensemble. The flat, circular base provides stability to the piece and sits on a slightly flared foot.
The decoration of the jug is one of its most distinctive elements. The surface of the silver is embossed and chiseled with vegetal and animal motifs, creating a rich and dynamic composition. Garlands of acanthus leaves, scrolls and other ornamental elements are intertwined, covering the entire surface. The representation of animals, such as birds and quadrupeds, adds an element of interest and naturalism to the decoration. The silver has a natural patina that testifies to the passage of time, adding aesthetic value to the piece. There are some signs of wear and small imperfections, typical of an object of its age. This 1695 Viennese silver jug is an exceptional testimony to the mastery of the goldsmiths of the time.
