BID HISTORY
DESCRIPTION

Still life painting, in which the painter has prioritized the representation of ripe fruits on a rustic table. A wicker basket, carelessly tilted, drops bunches of black and white grapes, whose translucent skins catch the light. The open figs show their fleshy, reddish pulp that contrasts with the velvety softness of the peaches. The natural setting, with a preeminence of autumn leaves, reinforces the sense of seasonal transience, reminding us of the passing of time. The presence of the birds introduces a note of life amidst the stillness of the still life, emphasizing the connection between the fecundity of the earth and the animal world. The composition recalls some works by Antoine Berjon or Severin Roesen, where the carefully studied arrangement of the elements and the meticulous detail coexist with a certain freedom in the stroke, announcing the transition towards a more sensorial and emotional painting.
