African dignitary walking stick, first half of the 20th century.
Wood, leather, horn, gemstones.
It presents marks of use and some lack in the stones.
Measurements: 96 cm. high.
African baton. The typology corresponds to that of a tribal dignitary's staff. An impressive zoomorphic mask is represented at the top of the handle: two antlers, large ivory teeth and red stones set in the slanted eye sockets give it an intimidating expression. Bejewelled rings alternate with carved wooden sections and leather wrappings along the length of the shaft.
